Cancel an event and offer guests a gift card instead of a refund

When you have to cancel an event — because of the weather, for example — you can give your guests a gift card worth their booking instead of refunding their money. They get an email that the event was cancelled, with a clear button to book another date. You keep the money, and your guests get an easy way to come back.

How to cancel an event with a gift card

  1. Click Calendar in the navigation bar – Your events open

  2. Open the event or booking and choose Cancel – The cancel dialog shows how many bookings the cancellation affects and how many events and bookings are in the series

  3. Choose Refund to gift card as the refund method

  4. Add a reason for your guests – Shown in the email they receive.

  5. Confirm the cancellation – Each guest receives a gift card matching the value of their booking

What your guests receive

Guests get an email that their event was cancelled, with their gift card and a button to book another date.

Guests who would rather have their money back can still choose to refund the gift card to their bank account.

Good to know

  • You can still refund to the original payment method as before — the gift card is an extra option.
