Understanding Your Meta Ads Performance Reviews

Understanding Meta Ads Performance Reviews: Understory Meta Ads performance reviews help you stay on top of how your ads are doing each month.

Understory Meta Ads performance reviews help you stay on top of how your ads are doing each month. Each review shows how your ads performed, highlights what worked best, and gives recommendations for your next steps – so you always know what’s driving bookings and how to get more value from your ad spend.

How to Access Your Performance Reviews

Requirements: You need access to Meta Ads in your Understory backoffice.

  1. Select “Marketing” in the navigation menu – Opens the Marketing section

  2. Select “Meta Ads” from the side menu – Shows Meta Ads options

  3. Open the “Performance reviews” tab – See a list of monthly reviews (newest first, showing ROAS and total revenue)

  4. Select any month – Opens the full report

Tip: Reviews you have already opened are marked "Viewed" so you can easily find those you haven’t read yet.

What’s Inside a Performance Review

Each review has three main parts:

Results

  • Shows your headline numbers for the month: revenue, ad spend, and purchases

  • Includes a breakdown of engagement (traffic, click-through rate, frequency) and cost efficiency (cost per purchase, CPM, average order value)

  • These are the same key metrics you see in your live dashboard, now wrapped up in a monthly snapshot

What Worked

  • Plain-language summary explaining what drove your results

  • Highlights the campaigns, audiences, and creatives that performed best

  • Helps you see the “why” behind your numbers

Recommendations

  • Clear, practical advice for the month ahead

  • Suggestions on scaling strong campaigns, refreshing creative, or adjusting budget

  • Actionable steps to help improve your results

When Your Review is Ready

  • Reviews appear once a month, covering each calendar month your campaigns are active

  • All reviews are saved, turning your Performance reviews tab into a historical record of ad performance

New Campaigns:

  • If a campaign has been live for less than three weeks in a month, the first review will show your numbers, but not the "What Worked" or "Recommendations"—there’s not enough data yet

  • You’ll see a short note that your ads are live and starting to reach guests

  • Your first full review, with detailed insights, follows the next month
