Clearing the Meta Non-Discrimination Policy Error

Clearing Meta Non Discrimination Policy Error: Meta requires every advertiser to accept its non-discrimination policy before ads can run.

Meta requires every advertiser to accept its non-discrimination policy before ads can run. If you see an error about the policy in Understory Bloom, don’t worry — nothing is wrong with your account. You just need to confirm acceptance of Meta’s policy and refresh your connection. This process only takes about five minutes and doesn’t require any technical setup.

How to Clear the Meta Non-Discrimination Policy Error

Requirements:

  • Access to your Facebook account (the profile linked to your ads)

  • Access to your Understory back office (Bloom section)

Step 1: Accept Meta's Non-Discrimination Policy

  1. Go to Meta’s Certification Page: Open facebook.com/certification/nondiscrimination in your browser.

  2. Sign in with your Facebook account: Use the profile associated with your ads.

  3. Read and accept the policy: This is the key step to clear the error.

  4. Check every facebook accounts associated to your profile

Step 2: Disconnect Your Meta Account in Bloom

  1. Open the Bloom section in your Understory back office: You must be signed in.

  2. Go to the Settings tab: Find this within Bloom.

  3. Open Connected Accounts: Locate Meta Ads.

  4. Click the menu (three dots) next to Meta Ads and select Disconnect account: This removes the old connection and prepares for a new, clean connection.

Step 3: Reconnect Your Meta Account

  1. Look for the disconnected banner: After disconnecting, you’ll see a message saying your Meta account is no longer connected.

  2. Click Reconnect Meta: Found on the right side of the disconnected banner in Bloom > Overview.

  3. Sign in with your Facebook account: Complete the reconnection.

Important: Order matters. Accept the policy first, then disconnect and reconnect. If you reconnect before accepting, the error will return.

How the Meta Policy Fix Works

Meta asks every advertiser to agree to its non-discrimination policy to protect users and promote fair advertising. If your Meta account was connected to Bloom before this policy was accepted, Meta will block your ads from going live. By accepting the policy and resetting your connection, you ensure your campaigns can launch without errors.

If you still see the error after following these steps, wait a few minutes. If the issue continues, contact your Understory representative for support.
