With Pay on arrival, guests can book on your storefront without paying online and pay you when they arrive. It suits experiences where you take payment at the door, or guests who prefer to pay in person.
How to switch on Pay on arrival
Click your company name, then Company settings – Your settings open
Open the Integration tab – You'll see your payment providers
Click get started on Pay on arrival – A pop-up explains how the booking fee is charged.
Choose which storefronts offer it – Go to Storefront, open a storefront, click Edit, and select Pay on arrival under Payment methods
What your guests see
Pay on arrival appears as a payment method at checkout. The booking confirmation tells the guest to pay when they arrive.
How you see it
Bookings paid on arrival are marked in Backoffice, and when you scan the ticket at check-in, so you know who still has to pay.
Good to know
Understory's booking fee still applies. As the payment doesn't go through Understory, the fee is added to your monthly Understory invoice instead.
Pay on arrival bookings are not part of Understory Accounting, because the money doesn't pass through Understory. Book them in your accounting yourself.
