Understory does not automatically enforce a minimum participant count. An event will not be cancelled or blocked from selling because it is below a threshold — you decide what to do with a low-attendance event.
How to handle low bookings
Monitor your upcoming events and cancel manually if you decide not to run one. When you cancel an event, guests are notified, and you choose whether they get their money back, a gift card they can use to book another date, or nothing.
State any minimum in your experience description and cancellation policy so guests know in advance that an event may not go ahead. This is what makes a later cancellation reasonable rather than a surprise.
Set a deadline for yourself — for example, decide 48 hours before the event whether it runs. Communicating that deadline up front reduces complaints.
