Multi-session experiences: create and manage them

What multi-session experiences are, how to create a multi-session event, how to add an itinerary, and answers to common questions.

What is a multi-session experience?

A multi-session experience is sold as a single booking that covers several sessions, for one price. The guest books the whole thing at once instead of reserving each session separately.

It fits two common situations:

  • A series across dates — for example a ceramics workshop over three evenings, or a course that meets weekly for several weeks. The guest signs up once and is booked for every session.

  • A sequence on the same day — for example a spa journey from sauna to hammam to massage, or a cooking course from prep to cooking to a shared meal.

Each session can have its own start time, duration, room, resources, and guide. One session can use one space while the next uses another, with each space reserved only for the session that needs it.

Multi-session events work alongside regular events. Any experience can have multi-session events, and a single experience can hold both regular events and multi-session events at the same time. You choose the type when you create each date.

How to create a multi-session event

You create a multi-session event the same way you add any other date to an experience. You choose the multi-session type and define the sessions it contains.

  1. Open the experience you want to add the event to.

  2. Add a new date and choose Multi-session as the event type.

  3. Add the sessions that make up the event. For each session, set its start and end time, and if relevant give it its own location, resources, and guide.

  4. Save. You're done.

There are no repeating rules for multi-session events, so you add each one individually rather than setting it to repeat automatically. When you add a new multi-session event, the system remembers your previous configuration, so you usually only need to adjust the start time.

How to add an itinerary to your experience

An itinerary lays out what happens in each session, so guests can see the full shape of the experience before they book. It's optional, but especially useful for multi-session experiences. You can add it to any experience.

You'll find the Itinerary block as a content element on step one of creating an experience. Add it to your experience description. If you've added an itinerary, guests see it in the experience description alongside the sessions.

What guests see when they book

  • On your storefront, the sessions are shown together as one collected block, so guests can see the full schedule before they book.

  • Guests book all sessions in a single booking rather than reserving each session separately.

  • If you've added an itinerary, guests see it in the experience description alongside the sessions.

Good to know

  • You can mix event types on one experience. An experience can offer both regular events and multi-session events at the same time. This works fine, but it's usually clearer for guests to keep a single experience to one type. Note that the price is set on the experience level, so it's the same for all events, regular and multi-session alike.

  • There are no repeating rules. Multi-session events are added one at a time. The system remembers your previous configuration when you add a new event, so you only need to adjust the start time.

  • Everything else behaves normally. Aside from the session structure, a multi-session event works like any other event for availability, bookings, and day-to-day management.

Frequently asked questions

Can a guest book just one session of a multi-session experience?
No. A multi-session experience is sold as a single booking that covers all of its sessions. Guests book the whole experience, not individual sessions.

Can an experience have both regular events and multi-session events?
Yes. Any experience can hold both regular events and multi-session events at the same time. You choose whether a date is a standard event or a multi-session event when you create it.

Can I set a multi-session event to repeat automatically each week?
Not currently. There are no repeating rules for multi-session events at the moment, so you add each one individually. The system does remember your previous configuration when you add a new event, so you only need to adjust the start time. If automatic repeats would be useful for you, let us know through the chat window.

Do I have to add an itinerary?
No. The itinerary is an optional block for your experience description. It's a helpful way to show guests what each session involves, but it isn't required to run a multi-session experience.

Can each session in a multi-session experience have a different location or guide?
Yes. Each session can have its own start time, duration, location, resources, and guide. This lets one session take place in one space while the next uses another.

Is the price set per session or for the whole experience?
The price is set at the experience level and covers all sessions in the booking. Guests pay one price for the complete multi-session experience.
