Experiences can be marked as exclusive, meaning the first online booking on an event automatically locks it from further bookings — even if capacity remains. This is ideal for self-serve private bookings such as escape rooms, cooking classes, or private spa sessions, where only one group should be able to book at a time.
How to enable exclusive bookings on an experience
Requirements: Admin or Manager role, or Permission: "Experience: Edit"
Click Experiences in the navigation bar - Opens your list of experiences
Click on the experience you want to update - Opens the experience overview
Click the Settings tab - Opens the experience settings
Find the Exclusive setting and enable it - The first online booking on any future event will automatically lock it from further bookings
Changes are saved automatically - The setting takes effect immediately
Good to know
Backoffice override — Bookings created or moved manually from Backoffice will still go through on a locked exclusive event. You will see a disclaimer before confirming this action. This is intentional and allows you as a host to override the lock when needed.
Cascading lock/unlock — If you change the Exclusive setting on an experience that already has live events with existing bookings, all future events with bookings will automatically be locked or unlocked to match the new setting.
What can I do with Exclusive Bookings?
Exclusive Bookings lets you offer self-serve private events without any manual work. Once enabled, guests can book your experience directly online and the event is automatically reserved for their group — no need for you to manually close it or follow up. This is especially useful for:
Escape rooms where only one group can play at a time
Private cooking classes or dining experiences
Spa sessions or wellness bookings for a single party
Any experience where mixing groups is not desirable
