You can now group your calendar by location, room, or guide, use a timeline view for better daily planning, and filter or adjust what details show on each event card. New settings, layout changes, and easier filtering help you manage experiences more efficiently.
How to Use the Calendar: Settings, Timeline, and Grouping
Group Your Calendar
Click "Calendar" in the navigation menu - Opens the Calendar view
Select the "Group by" dropdown (top of calendar) - See grouping options
Choose from No grouping, Group by experience, Group by location, or Group by guide - Calendar groups update
Use the Timeline (Day View)
Switch to Day view (top right of calendar, via "Day/Week" dropdown) - Calendar changes to timeline view
Use "Group by experience", "Group by location", or "Group by guide” - Timeline displays grouped activities by hour
Filter Calendar Views
Click the filter icon (top right corner of calendar) - Filter sidebar opens
Select filters under Experiences, Locations, Rooms, etc. - Calendar updates to display filtered results
Adjust Calendar Settings & Event Card Details
Click the gear/settings icon (top right of calendar) - Opens Calendar settings dialog
Toggle Show location, Show guide, Show guest count, Show languages - Updates info shown on event cards
(Optional) Connect Calendar via iCal - Syncs Understory calendar to Google, Apple, Outlook, or similar
What Can I Do With the New Calendar?
The new Understory Calendar makes it easier to manage experiences by letting you group events by guide, location, room, or experience type - all in a timeline or week view. Customizable settings let you decide what info shows on each card, such as language or guest counts. Filters help you focus on specific experiences, rooms, or guides. The improved layout means less clicking around and more straightforward event management. It’s designed to help you plan your day, manage space, and assign staff efficiently.
