Why does Understory need full access?
You must have access to the "Grow" and "Advertising" sections in your Understory dashboard to connect your Meta assets.
When you grant full access, Understory can:
Publish and optimize ads from your Facebook Page or Instagram Account:
Ads appear as coming from your business, protecting your brand and providing continuity for your customers.
Create and manage campaigns with your Ad Account:
We handle budgeting, monitor performance, and make ongoing improvements to maximise your ad spend.
Access your Pixel and Data Sets for tracking and reporting:
This allows us to track sales, website visits, and other important actions, so we can optimize your ads for even better results.
This setup is like giving an agency the ability to manage your ads — we can act fully on your behalf, ensuring your campaigns remain compliant with Meta’s rules and deliver measurable value without needing constant back-and-forth.
How does full access work?
When you connect your Meta accounts in Understory's "Grow" section, you'll be asked to grant these permissions:
Publish as your business on Facebook and Instagram
Create, edit, and remove ad campaigns
View and manage your Ad Account reporting and billing
Access Pixels and data to track purchases, bookings, and conversions
You stay in control: You can review permissions at any time and disconnect if you wish. Your information is protected by Meta's security and Understory's privacy practices.
