This feature lets you use simple templates or write your own text, helping keep your business protected and making your policies clear to customers at the point of sale. All policies can be customized at any time and translated for different languages.
How to Add Terms of Trade, Privacy Policy and Cancellation Policy to Checkout
Requirements: Access to Storefront settings > Implementation
Go to Storefront in the menu on the left – Storefront page opens
Click Preferences, then select Terms tab – Terms page displays three sections for “Terms of trade,” “Privacy Policy,” and “Cancellation Policy”
Click the policy you want to edit (e.g. “Terms of trade”) – Text editor window will open
Write your own policy or click “Insert from template” – Editor fills with template (can be edited)
Check or edit the translated version using the language selector at the top (optional)
Click Save changes – Your new terms will be saved and appear at checkout
Repeat for each policy (Privacy Policy, Cancellation Policy) – Each one can be managed separately
To link out to your policies hosted on your website, paste the relevant URL in the editor instead of using the text template feature.
How Terms & Policies Work
Your customers will see your terms during the booking and checkout process. Using clear information about refunds, privacy, and trading protects your business, reduces disputes, and helps customers make confident purchases. You can update any policy later, so your storefront always reflects your latest business rules. Remember: Templates are for convenience only and should be reviewed—Understory does not provide legal advice.
