Notifications in Understory help you stay informed about important updates, bookings, events, and sales happening within your business. With the notifications feature, you can choose which alerts you want to receive, such as new bookings or gift card sales. This ensures you and your team are always up to date on the latest activity in your company.


How to Manage Notifications in Understory

Requirements: Admin role or set permission to “Company settings: Edit”

  1. Press the arrow beside your name and company at the bottom left – Expands more options.

  2. Select Company settings – Opens your company profile settings.

  3. Click the Notifications tab at the top – Shows notification settings.

  4. Use the toggles next to each notification type – Turn notifications on (green) or off (grey).

  5. Choose which areas you want to receive notifications about – Select only what's relevant for you.


How Notifications Work

Notifications settings are managed at the company level, not by individual users. This means changes affect all team members. You can toggle notifications for:

  • Tips and Tricks for Understory – Receive helpful setup and account tips.

  • Bookings – Get notified whenever you receive a new booking.

  • Events – Reminders for when an event is coming up.

  • Gift cards – Alerts when a new gift card is sold.

  1. Are notifications personal or company-wide? Notifications in Understory are managed at the company level; settings apply for all users in the company.
