Updated over 3 weeks ago

Please find our simple guide on how to set yourself up for a smooth onboarding. Please note that this process requires a computer.

To get started smoothly, please review the information below.
We've already set up all your experiences—now you just need to set up Stripe and connect it to your website. If you need any assistance, feel free to reach out.

Invitation to account

Accept the invite to your Understory account: A separate invite is sent to this email from [email protected]

Create an experience and/or event

We've set up your experiences and events, but some details might be missing if we can't find the information

If you need to fill in any gaps, you can find a guide here:

Create experience

Stripe

  1. A computer: It is important to use a computer as Stripe cannot be set up from a phone or tablet.

  2. Here is what is needed:

    1. Click on settings --> Integrations (HERE)

    2. Sign up for a Stripe account or log in if you already have an account

    3. Provide business details

    4. Verify your identity

    5. Connect your bank account

      1. IBAN and other payment details: Have your bank details ready so we can set up the payment solution correctly.

        1. Finding your IBAN: Your IBAN can typically be found:

          1. On your bank statements (paper or digital).

          2. In your online banking portal, under account details or payment information.

          3. By contacting your bank’s customer service

    6. Confirm transaction details for your guests' bank account

    7. (OPTIONAL) Set up Stripe Tax

    8. Now you are ready to receive payments

  3. Phone: This may be needed for verification or other purposes related to Stripe.

Connect to your website

  1. Choose your Storefront solution (Click here)

    1. Storefront
Our complete solution that contains both an overview (optional), a detail page, and a booking flow. This is the solution for you who do not want to create, describe, and update your experiences in several places, but would like to keep everything together in Understory.

    2. Checkout
Our booking flow in full screen. Here you have the "book" button on your own page, and links directly into our booking flow. It is good for you who want a seamless integration, but still like a marked transition to the booking itself.

    3. Widget
A widget that you can place wherever you want on your own page. Here, the booking flow is started in a widget directly on the page. It is good for you who want a fully integrated solution and do not want to leave your own page to take the first steps toward a booking.

  2. Insert the link or script from your preferred Storefront solution. Click on the link above if you need help finding it.

TIP! If you are using WordPress and want to use our widget, you can install our Understory Plugin. See a guide here: Understory Plugin
